Anatomy and Physiology

Choreography and Cueing

You’ll learn about the science of exercise, including the different types of exercise and how they affect the body. You’ll also learn about different workout protocols and how to design customized workout plans that help clients reach their fitness goals. 

Music Selection and Timing

You’ll understand the role of nutrition in health and fitness, including the different types of nutrients, the principles of healthy eating, and how to develop personalized nutrition plans for clients. This knowledge will help you give clients well-rounded advice that takes into account both exercise and nutrition.

Safety and Injury Prevention

You’ll learn how to demonstrate and instruct clients on proper exercise technique, including form, safety, and modifications for individual needs. This knowledge will help you ensure that clients perform exercises correctly and safely, reducing the risk of injury and maximizing results.

Group Fitness Formats

You will be required to complete the study guide  and email to IFTA after going through the downloaded videosA written test will then be emailed to you.

3. Is the program online or in-person?

Our program is entirely online and self-study, so you can study at your own pace from the comfort of your own home. You can sign-up for our 2-hour online tutorial to better understand the topics to be tested.

4. How long does the program take to complete?

The program is self-paced, so you can complete it as quickly or as slowly as you like. On average, most students complete the program within 3-6 months.

5. Do I need to purchase any additional materials?

The program includes the study guide and downloadable videos, but if you do not have the textbook, you may choose to order it through our website or other outlets such as Amazon.

6. Will I be able to find a job as a group fitness instructor after completing the program?

While we cannot guarantee employment, the demand for qualified group fitness instructors continue to grow. 8. How do I recertify my group fitness instructor certification?

To recertify your IFTA Group Fitness Instructor Certification, you’ll need to complete continuing education units (CEUs) by taking additional courses, attending workshops, or engaging in other forms of professional development. We offer a variety of CEU options through our online platform and live workshops, so you can choose the best fit for your schedule and interests.

9. How many CEUs do I need to recertify my group fitness instructor certification?

To recertify your IFTA Group Fitness Instructor Certification, you’ll need to complete 16 CEUs every two years. This ensures that you stay current with the latest research and trends in the field and continue to provide your clients with the highest quality of service.
